Our 10th Anniversary Menu

The 10-year anniversary of Cropping Daze was quite a milestone for our little retreat!

When we started our journey all those years ago, I'm not certain I saw that far into our future!

But ... you ladies continued to come and support us - to share your lives with us - let us live vicariously through your amazing vacation photos - let us cry with you over loss and illness - and celebrate life's goodness along the way.

When we started this journey, we decided that we would not serve duplicate menu items so we could keep it fresh and fun for our guests.

There were a few signature items that we were almost threatened (lol) to keep on the menu.

Through the years, guests would share with us dishes they loved along the way, and requests were made for "throwback" dishes. So, when we began planning for year ten, one of our guests suggested we celebrate with a "favorites" year.

I loved it!

So, for 6 months, we asked returning guests what their favorite dishes were.

We posted on Facebook and asked for feedback.

We sent emails, and I even asked a few guests I had run into at Target and Meijer.

The "favorites" were gathered, and year 10 went off with a bang!

I wish I could remember what that menu looked like then - but I'm old now, and my memory is bad (haha).

I do remember Hudson's Maurice Salad and the Hot Chicken Salad made the cut (you can find both recipes in our cookbook).

I also remember the comments from the dining room as each "throw back" made a "comeback."

I'd love to do this again in year 20!!!!!

Friday Continental Breakfast with Thursday Check-In!

Good morning from Cropping Daze!

Our Thursday check in guests are enjoying a Friday continental breakfast served up beautifully by Peggy.

Thursday check in is a service we have offered for the past 10 years … for an additional $50 you can get an extra 24 hours of crafting time in!

Check in is 3:00pm and you’re on your own for dinner. We serve fresh from the oven homemade tollhouse chocolate chip cookies and cold milk along with a homemade spinach dip for a late night snack.

Friday morning is a continental breakfast (pictured) and you’re on your own for lunch.

Full service begins at 4:30 when the rest of the staff arrives.

There is a hostess on staff at all times to be sure you have fresh coffee, a full fridge of pop and the snack and candy jars are full.

I think it’s safe to say once you try Thursday check in you can’t imagine coming without it!

Hockey Family Fun - Michigan State Championship...While Peggy Holds Down the Fort at Cropping Daze Retreat!

It's a Great Day For Family....and Crafting!

Well … HELLO weekend!!!

Phyllis and I are spending our weekend at the rink watching my son Mac and the Oakland Jr Grizzlies team battle for the state championship while Peggy holds down the fort at the Daze! This evening we will be at my daughters final sports banquet… her departure for GCU is getting closer by the second .

I’m sad to not be at Cropping Daze this weekend but this weekend with my kids was something I couldn’t miss out on!!!

Check out our amazingly talented guests creations … and our new fridge - lol … Sometimes you need a little help to get your fridge cleaned out and organized .

I hope you can make some time to do something creative this weekend.
